Amazing modern home in former church in Chicago

This is probably hard to believe, but this house in Chicago in the past really was the Catholic Church. Now only the vaulted arches, tall ceilings and stained-glass windows remind of the ‘house of God’. The space here is so big, that the owners managed to put a climbing wall in one of the rooms. The project is not only unique in its size – the idea of making an old church a house for a young family is in itself something grandiose and fascinating. It is amazing how the designers managed to create an absolutely modern dwelling and at the same time preserve the history of the building. This was done with the help of beautiful stained-glass windows, wooden beams and ceilings, in some places the ancient walls were left intact. This living space amazes with its magnificence and freshness.
