Modern minimalistic design is often criticized for asceticism and lack of comfort, but in this case, the choice of designers was completely justified. One family owned an old farm and a large plot in a forest on Whidby Island in Washington State, and recently decided to build a holiday home, which would fit harmoniously into the local nature. The one-story structure of wood, stone, glass and metal was ideally suited for this purpose – as a result, not a single tree was damaged. Thanks to the glass walls on almost the entire perimeter of the house, the owners can constantly feel unity with nature, and the abundance of wood in the finishing has made modern spaces also warm and cozy. Perfect design!
