The owners of this modern home in a forest in California, a family of eco-enthusiasts, approached Faulkner Architects to create an energy-efficient design that would be a continuation of nature and be a harmonious addition to it. The facade of the house is made of weathering steel, which is resistant to atmospheric corrosion, does not require maintenance and perfectly echoes the color of the soil and autumn foliage. Wood, concrete and glass are the main materials for interior decoration. Despite its environmental friendliness, the house is also impressive in terms of design: a stunning open space with high ceilings, elegant minimalist furniture and a piano will not leave indifferent lovers of exquisite laconic lines and shapes.
