Interesting architecture and thoughtful glazing: modern house in Maine

This home on Vinalhaven Island, Maine, is not the permanent residence to the owner’s family, but they come here regularly throughout the year. In summer, on the bay, which is located just a hundred meters from the house, you can sail by boat, and in winter – walk in the forest and enjoy the sea air. The building consists of two blocks connected by a glazed pavilion – its architects designed it specifically for this house, so that in the evenings you can enjoy the amazing sunsets and beauty of the island. This is not the only interesting solution with glazing: the house is decorated with high windows, consisting of three blocks, one of which can be opened for ventilation. The interiors turned out to be live and uncluttered, with an abundance of vintage and aged items. Light finishes and furnishings create a great backdrop, while vibrant textiles and objects echo the rich nature outside the window. Ideal for an escape from the bustle of the city!
