Large windows and lots of wood: modern weekend getaway in Mexico

This home in Mexico was originally designed as a weekend getaway rather than a permanent home. Therefore, the architect relied on communication and relaxation areas for a large company: hence the spacious kitchen, an abundance of sofa areas and secluded corners with tables and chairs. The house consists of three volumes with pitched roofs: the central part and two adjacent buildings – while the side overlooking the garden is completely glazed. The decoration is dominated by three materials: metal, wood and beautiful natural stone, which creates the feeling that the house is more than a hundred years old. Thanks to the unusual architecture, the house stands out against the background of the surrounding nature and at the same time fits perfectly into it. The whole family loves to gather here for the weekend or during the holidays and have fun – relaxing in the jacuzzi, cooking dinner, playing board games or basking by the fireplace.
