Modern renovation of classic apartment in Podil district in Kyiv (60 sqm)

This apartment is located in a historic building in one of the most famous and tourist places of Kyiv – on Andriyivsky Descent, in Podil. Classical architecture and family memory (the home belonged to several generations of the client’s family) predetermined the course of preserving the original details with history and integrating them into modern design. Thus, all the doors in the apartment have been preserved and restored, also the fragments of the brick walls are the original masonry from the time the house was built. Another distinctive feature is the active use of black (ceiling in the bedroom is gorgeous!), despite the classic moldings and vintage decor. It’s all about the owner’s love for dark shades, which is fully shared by the project designer Oksana Dolgopyatova. How do you like such housing in a historic house?
