Black contrasts and mid century character: holiday home on Australian island

Designing a private home on a remote island is by default a sensitive process. And if this island is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, then the situation for architects is even more complicated. This holiday cottage is located in just such a place – on the protected island of Lord Howe Island in the Tasman Sea in Australia, where there is even a limit on the number of tourist visits.
