When a young family purchased an apartment in an early 20th-century building in the heat of Madrid, they asked designer Angela Bermudez to create a bright, modern home for them that captures the building’s historic splendor. Initially, the apartment had a layout with many rooms and corridors, so the designer suggested removing some of the walls to provide more open interior concept. Elegant wall moldings and stucco, as well as classically framed paintings, pay homage to the place’s history, while trendy rounded furniture and minimalist decor build an inviting bridge to modernity. Enjoy!
