This Long Island home is a well-preserved example of traditional Cape Cod-style architecture, characterized by regular symmetrical forms, a shingled facade, and protruding dormers. The house was originally built in the late 19th century as a carriage house for a larger residence next door (which, by the way, did not survive to this day), but now it is a cozy country retreat for a New York family on weekends. The cottage looks fabulous and is drowning in greenery, and the interiors are a cozy mix of timeless details and light modern touches. Beauty!
