In designing this Connecticut home, architect Elisabeth Roberts had to bring the beautiful 18th-century building back to life while still maintaining a timeless feel. The owners moved here from busy New York City in search of a quiet, measured life, and this spacious cottage with a huge green area was perfect for them. The renovation work was grandiose, but you wouldn’t tell it at first glance, because the architect managed to smoothly and gently transfer the interiors from the 18th century to the 21st.
