Warm interiors of quirky 1970s cottage in upstate New York

When a young New York couple bought this unusual 1970s cottage a couple of hours outside the city, they were drawn to the home’s architecture. It’s an A-frame wooden cottage with an impressive 27 skylight windows that fill the house with light and allow to enjoy nature. But the cottage’s interiors weren’t that impressive, so the new owners turned to design studio BHDM for help with a renovation. In fact, the designers’ interventions weren’t global – they left almost all the natural surfaces of the walls and ceilings unchanged, only rehabilitating the old stone fireplace and adding stylish furniture and decor items. It turned out very cozy!
