After many unsuccessful attempts to find an ideal apartment with character, the owners decided to combine two unremarkable apartments in one of Brooklyn’s new buildings and independently create a suitable home. One of the main wishes for the designers – the beautiful New York studio General Assebmly – was to use as many natural materials as possible, so in the design, we can see concrete walls, recycled wood floors, marble slabs in the kitchen and bathroom, and also many different walnut panels. This project clearly shows that a modern industrial design can be warm and comfortable, and at the same time clean in relation to the environment.
