On an artificial island, fifteen minutes from the center of Copenhagen, Lizbeth and Laust have designed and built a modern house with total area of only 80 sqm. The cottage is installed on two pontoons filled with light polystyrene. For an elderly couple, the biggest challenge was not to build such a home, but to fit into its small size: when they moved, they took with them only the most necessary things. Finishing is more than simple: self-leveling floors, wooden panels, walls and ceiling for painting. The interiors are also designed in a minimalist style, which echoes the most modern idea of the house by the water.
