Arches, terrazzo floors and retro notes: eclectic design in Jurmala, Latvia

Much of the extraordinary interiors of this old mansion in Jurmala, Latvia, was inspired by the legendary Italian villas of the 1930s and 40s. Arched walkways, terrazzo floors, vintage chandeliers bought at the flea market, lacquered furniture and rounded shapes – the spaces turned out to be quite eclectic and nostalgic, with interwoven bold shades and textures. At the same time, modern details and techniques do not let us forget about the present and make the interiors relevant and chic. Interestingly, the implementation of the design took almost 6 years – the status of an architectural monument implied lengthy coordination and approval. Great work by designer Agnes Rudzite!
