Sarah and Gunnar spent several years looking for a suitable summer home, but eventually decided to build on their own. The family is fond of design and loves New England style, so their cottage incorporates elements of traditional Scandinavian and American styles. The exterior of the house, although built of traditional Scandinavian materials in white, still has a more complex and interesting shape than typical Swedish cottages.
