Rider Stirland Architects decided to add a little drama to the interiors of an old Victorian house in Buckinghamshire. In most rooms we see atmospheric dark walls and cabinet furniture, and this is despite the graceful classical characteristics of the spaces. There is also a modern extension to the house – with a kitchen and a dining room – and this is the only bright place in the house with white walls. What a bold game of contrasts!
