Proper filtration system for a well: key features

Groundwater is an excellent alternative to centralized water supply. But, when developing a future project and calculating the costs of its implementation, you need to add filters for purifying iron from water from a well to the list of mandatory purchases. This is a major investment in caring for the health of all household members, which will also protect you from problems with household appliances and plumbing.

Why is untreated well water dangerous?

Groundwater often contains all sorts of impurities. Fluid extracted from a well poses a serious health hazard for a number of reasons:

  1. Low quality. The taste and aroma are far from ideal, which can spoil food prepared with such water, and drinking it in its pure form is not very pleasant.
  2. High concentration of metals. Lead, manganese, and iron are needed by the body only in certain forms and small quantities. Excess leads to poisoning, which is dangerous due to the deterioration of health, as well as the occurrence of chronic diseases.
  3. Chemical pollutants. Despite the myth about the unique purity of groundwater, it may contain toxic substances. The risks of drinking such water are very serious.

And most importantly, it is impossible to constantly monitor the quality of water from a well, as happens with centralized water supply systems. And every glass of seemingly clean liquid you drink can become a time bomb that will one day cause irreparable damage.

How to properly purify artesian water

The simplest and most effective way is to install a comprehensive filtration system, which includes several stages of purification:

  1. mechanical filtration – removal of sand, debris, rust and other small particles that may accumulate in the pipeline;
  2. softening – increased hardness not only affects the operation of plumbing equipment and household appliances, but also causes serious damage to the skin, nails and hair, which causes constant itching, irritation and discomfort;
  3. removal of organic substances – water should benefit health and not harm, which is why comprehensive purification is so important;
  4. disinfection – special components in the filtration system effectively remove all types of pathogens;
  5. reduction in the level of iron, manganese, hydrogen sulfide – any substances that could pose a danger will be neutralized, which will have a positive effect on the taste of the liquid extracted from the well.
