From abandoned 18th century mansion to trendy modern hotel: Casa Grande in Spain

The owners of the new Casa Grande hotel in the Rioja region of Spain have left their carefree life on the sunny Costa Brava and moved to the north of the country to devote themselves to the hotel business. The family invited a local architectural studio, which brought back to life an old stone estate from the 18th century in one of the lovely medieval towns. The main feature of the project is the strict minimalist interior design, in which, nevertheless, the designers managed to amazingly preserve the aura of past centuries. With original stonework, moody dark colors and a beautiful play with light, the hotel is the perfect example of trendy contemporary design with full respect for history. Enjoy!
