Wood burning fireplace, restaurant-like kitchen and mezzanine: unusual apartment in Stockholm

Today we have a very unusual Scandinavian apartment, and this concerns, first of all, zoning and some design solutions. It is worth starting with the fact that this is an attic space on the top floor of an apartment building, hence the sloping ceilings and an additional mezzanine level. The heart of the home is the kitchen with an island, which is placed under the mezzanine. This creates the feeling that you are in some restaurant or cafe, and the island acts as a bar counter. Among other unusual solutions, we would mention a real wood-burning fireplace by the stairs, which definitely adds a sense of coziness. Interestingly, the seating area with a sofa is located on the mezzanine, while the main level is used for dining and receiving guests at the dining table. Enjoy!
