This wonderful lake house in Washington state would not see the world, if not for the sad circumstances. A few years ago, an old 100-year-old cottage burned down in a tragic fire, but the owners lost more than just a house. While building a new home on the same site, the architects had to try to restore the charm that was present here before. At the same time, the cottage was to become a comfortable modern housing for the family for at least the next 100 years. We don’t know what the old house looked like, but the new one is just super cozy!
This country house is far from civilization right on the shore of the lake and the owners use it for privacy and quiet rest. But inside there is no feeling of rustic country life, on the contrary, the interiors are made in a refined modern classic, more typical in city apartments or townhouses. Looks beautiful!

It’s amazing how the architecture of this contemporary residence in the suburbs of Stockholm has only 4 parallel concrete walls, which are connected by glass partitions to form interior spaces! Such a structure helped to maximally open the house to natural light and nature, and also virtually clear the boundaries between interiors and the environment. The house also has its own swimming pool and access to the lake. Impressive design!
This wooden cottage is located in the woods of Alabama right on the lake shore and used to be a fishing cabin. But in such a picturesque place you want not only to fish, but also to enjoy the solitude of nature – so the owners decided to convert the small house into a comfortable weekend home for two or a small company. The cottage had to be slightly expanded, but the atmosphere of a simple wooden cottage and with its charm and coziness was preserved inside. Great project!
Glass walls and beautiful water views – this modern home is located on the bay in Washington state and on holidays is a rather unusual and interesting sight. The color scheme here almost everywhere is white and red with insignificant inserts of green – again, to create a feeling of a snow-covered landscape in the absence of snow outside the window. And there is also a very beautiful terrace right above the water, and it is also in New Year’s decoration. Enjoy watching!
Rustic home requires a proper Christmas decor. This house on Lake Tahoe has changed to holidays, but it has not lost its style and concept. There are minimum toys and decorations on the Christmas tree, all in one color scheme, and the abundance of wood in the interior is supported by numerous greenery and coniferous plants. Festive, but not overloaded with decor. Great!
This old house built in the 40s once was a home for current owner’s mother, so the main goal for the renovation was to carefully preserve the past while creating comfy modern interiors for a young family. As a result, there is such a noticeable contrast between the facade and the interior design. Outside, the house is dark and even slightly gloomy. But inside you will find a whole variety of textures, material, and colors. The interiors are noble, stylish, there are many different prints, retro furniture and vintage accessories. The perfect combination of past and present.
It seems that such homes can exist only in fairy tales or in children’s dreams, but it’s real – on the shore of the lake in the Swedish countryside there is a small but so cozy cottage of only 25 sqm! The owner says she comes here when she needs to be alone and refresh her mind. Wonderful nature and lovely interiors make this home a perfect place for this!
Today we have an incredibly beautiful home in Italy with amazing views from the windows. This classic apartment on the shores of Lake Maggiore was decorated by the Russian designer Anna Dmitrieva of Couture Interiors studio for her family. The highlight of this house is a magnificent color scheme, which, according to Anna, was supposed to convey the natural palette of the local landscapes. A real dream!
