This residence in the Italian city of Piacenza in a short time turned from a dilapidated rural house into a stylish mansion in a modern style. The architect William Savaiya restored it by himself, for himself and his family. From the outside, the facade was hardly touched – it was important not to spoil the historical appearance of the castle, surrounded by vineyards and majestic nature. But inside the house has undergone significant changes. Finishing was preserved as much as possible, but all furniture and decor were replaced with new pieces – now everything is bright and modern. Such an amazing contrast made this place even more memorable and unique. Such an interesting project!
Have you ever swum in the pool next to a cozy fireplace? If not, you need to go to Bolzano, Italy, because the The San Luis hotel brings the winter holiday to a new level. Delightful wooden chalets and tree houses are surrounded by a crystal lake, forest and snowy peaks. In the rooms there are fireplaces, beds with fluffy blankets and bathtubs in the middle of the space. All interiors are decorated in a traditional Alpine style, but without too much of decor, because the environment and comfort are on the first place here. Of course, the main highlight of the hotel – spa zone with a swimming pool and fireplace. There is no better place to rest after a mountain walk or skiing. This hotel combines coziness, privacy and comfort, and all this gives an unforgettable experience.
When you hear the phrase “Alpine house”, you for sure imagine an old wooden chalet on a snow-covered slope. But a mountain cottage can also be modern, and therefore no less beautiful. And today we have such a home in the Italian Alps. Wood and minimalism rule here. Just think of how nice is it to come back to this home after a day in the cold, light a fireplace, drink cocoa or wine, and later have a good sleep in a soft bed!
Designers of Studioata decided to utilize to the maximum the high ceilings of this ground floor apartment in a magnificent historic building in Turin, Italy. But they did it in a rather original way: with the help of interesting architectural solutions, they managed to install a mezzanine lounge are under the ceiling, where the original painting and stucco were preserved. A perfect example of modern design in an old building!
It’s no secret that in California they have a special passion for European architecture. We have posted a lot on our website about homes designed in the Spanish colonial style from this celebrity-loved state of America. And today’s house is also no exception: the villa of the famous TV star Ellen DeGeneres in Santa Barbara was inspired by traditional Italian stone buildings. Of course, the design was diluted with modern furniture and accessories, but the vintage atmosphere is felt quite well. Great project!
Today we have an incredibly beautiful home in Italy with amazing views from the windows. This classic apartment on the shores of Lake Maggiore was decorated by the Russian designer Anna Dmitrieva of Couture Interiors studio for her family. The highlight of this house is a magnificent color scheme, which, according to Anna, was supposed to convey the natural palette of the local landscapes. A real dream!
You don’t go to the hotels like as Masseria Salinola for active nightlife or brand shopping. This is the place for those who want to dive into the charming Italian countryside and experience the delights of a beautiful Apulia region. It’s so easy to fall in love with Italy and it’s hard to forget such a wonderful country. This is exactly what happened to a couple from Russia who, once in a charming Italian village, decided to acquire real estate here. Thank God, the price allowed: an authentic though dilapidated farm house was worth a studio apartment on the outskirts of Moscow. To restore the beautiful stone house the owners attracted local masters, the interior design was done by Zhenya Zhdanova. What came of it – today in our photo story!
Sorry, this entry is only available in Russian. But you still can enjoy photos.
It may be hard to think this magnificent villa in Italy is used as a private home, as it has a lot in common with a historical museum. Black and white marble floors, sculptures, paintings and luxurious chandeliers – all this beauty echoes the amazing views outside the window. The color palette consists of rich deep tones but it is a noble and majestic beauty. The private yard with a swimming pool overlooking the lake is just a dream!
