Today we would like to show you one more of our completed projects. In contrast to the project of the private house in Kyiv, which we finished in late 2017, this home is much smaller in size and scale – an apartment of 120 sqm in one of the Kyiv new high rises. One of the main challenges that we faced was the desire of clients to use their old furniture from the previous apartment in a new design. Spanish cabinets of dark wood and a desk in the living room, as well as a bed and a bedside table from the same collection – these were interior items that required a special approach, but we tried to find a harmonious place in the home for them. In addition, there were certain restrictions on the budget, therefore almost all the interior items in this project were from local Ukrainian brands.
The total area of this apartment in Kiev at first glance is quite large – 124 sqm, but it has its own layout features. The rooms here are distributed on three levels, with the last two floors being under the roof slope – all this impose some restrictions on the design, at the same time made the home very unique. Interiors are designed in minimalist modern style with loft details and elements of the Scandinavian style. Let’s have a look!
Look at these awesome green accents in the interiors of an apartment in Kyiv, Ukraine. In the living room, the designer painted a fragment of concrete wall, and the minimalist kitchen is decorated completely in green. At the same time, in the bedroom sunny yellow tones prevail, but they nevertheless do not argue at the general color concept of the home. The theme of green continues and ends in the bathroom, which turned out to be quite original in design. Great project!
This spacious apartment on the 28th floor of one of the Kyiv skyscrapers was designed for a woman who lives alone, so the space was not divided strictly into the rooms but left open with a lot of air. The natural wood and concrete were decided to combine with bright and gentle tones, unusual furniture and accessories. One of the wishes of the client was to create a zone for practicing yoga, this place was decorated with a small garden, which looks interesting in contrast to the panoramic windows and views of the bustling metropolis. Amazing home, where space and freedom are felt as much as incredible energy!
Today we continue our story how we created the design of a private house in Kyiv (the complete house tour can be found here). The original layout was almost perfect and the client was happy with it, so we did not change anything (except the laundry). The house has a clear division into public and private areas – through glass doors in the kitchen you get into the long L-shaped hallway leading to the bedrooms. The idea was to make the kind of art gallery in this corridor, with a natural oak parquet, white walls and large photos in frames as “exhibits”.
As we promised, today we would like to tell a bit more about how we did our first design project of a private home in Kyiv (who have not seen it yet, be sure to check the first post). The client purchased an already built house, which however was empty inside, so we had to start from scratch. When we just got into the space, the first words that sounded were “We leave the beams!”. As a result, they became one of the of the basic points of the future design concept, despite the fact that due to technical reasons in some rooms we had to hid them or replace with false ones. The layout of the interiors remained almost untouched, except for the laundry (we’ll talk about it in the next post). The space is conveniently divided into a public area, which includes an entrance hall, a large […]
Today is a very special and exciting day for us as we finally can share our first completed design project with you. We were lucky to get a chance to design such a home, as well as to work with the owner who was so open to our ideas. The private house is located in Kyiv, Ukraine, and is reminiscent of American ranch with a U-shaped plan and inner garden. The design concept was to create easy and light interior spaces using natural materials and calm neutral color scheme. Wooden beams, vintage touches, ethnic decor are highlights of this modern ranch. We invite you to take a tour inside the home, and in the following posts, we plan to disclose some interesting issues that we went through during the building process that lasted for 1.5 years. Looking forward to your honest comments.:) Drop us a line what else would you […]
When an architect designs an apartment for himself, one should expect something very functional and very modern. So it happened with this modern apartment in Kyiv, Ukraine, with a total area of 44 sqm, which belongs to the studio A-partment founders. The design is built on practical and stylish furniture and transformer modules, which made it possible to comfortably accommodate the family with a child in a rather limited space. The interiors look and feel very spacious, and all the household items are cleverly hidden behind the minimalist facades. Great project!
Active wall decor in the form of moldings and stucco looks good only within the appropriate architecture and ceiling height, and that is why designers from the studio Zasutsky Architects decided to use such techniques while working on the project of this apartment. The home is located in a historic Stalinist house in the center of Kiev, so the chosen theme of modern French apartments was just in place. Restrained, but expressive interiors are filled with exquisite decor items and bright accents. Great work!
