Tortue Hotel in former ministry building in Hamburg, Germany

Tortue Hotel in Hamburg, Germany, proves that a former ministry building can be successfully converted into modern and chic hotel. Only a strict facade and wide corridors with offices remind about the official past of this house. The rest is a modern space created to receive guests and living in the rhythm of a big city. The hotel’s interiors are an exquisite blend of wallpaper with prints, bright velvet furniture, modern art and historical heritage. Tortue is a small city inside the big one: there are 126 rooms, two restaurants, a bar, several conference rooms, a shop and a cozy backyard. A hundred years ago, the building was full of business life, now the guests of the city stop here and spend some good relaxing time. We can just wonder what will happen with the building in the next century..
